I was experiencing what seemed to me was a great deal of static when I was recording recently. For the last 2 days I kept getting transcription errors and I was fighting that for quite a while. Today someone just pointed out that cleaning the mic hole was one way to clean the index. Using Gorilla Removable Mounting Putty several times has eliminated the transcription errors and, it sounds to me like the quality of the recordings has been dramatically improved.
