Can’t say I’m very interested in such a device but, everything isn’t for everyone.
But still curious on how long battery life it has, how you charge it and if you easly can open it and replace the battery?

… but if its intended as an entry device into the world of rePEBBLE then it’s probably good idea.

I wish there would be more people with your mindset, values, viewpoints and direction. I might not fully agree to the letter with everything but it is darn close.
When returning a ring when battery has reached EOL, have you decided what the price for a replacement ring will be?
Same price or less than the initial price
Assumed as much, might be a good idea to add it to a faq at some point.
Is the design and battery size fully locked down or are there chances for a larger capacity battery possible in future replacements as technology advances?
All locked down. But software improvements will continue to extend the battery life.
How will returns be handled? Will you cover the cost of shipping for recycling? Also how is it recycled? Battery gets replaced and resold? Or just ripping it apart for materials?
Will the firmware be open source as well? It says “open source” on the product listing and then just links to the Core App repo.

Hi. Can i attach my Gem to the ring? I have existing ring with gem. Can i attach to it? So like gem ring with button!
There is the possibility an aftermarket battery comes on the market for those who want to try their hand at replacing the battery in the Index 01. On a scale of 1-10 how hard would it be to replace the battery? In for one already!

Is there going to be an pebble watch emulator for the index? ie, how open is the software stack.
I wrote an pebble app and use it daily that acts essentially as an index ring. I hold down the quick launch button, and it immediately starts transcribing, goes voice to text to then post to a trello board. It’s especially great as someone with ADHD. I’m still going to buy a ring, as it lets me use a single hand rather than two. -
How much force does the button take to press? Asking because with arthritis, my fingers hurt more

Is there an ETA for having the Index’s functionality on the new & old watches? i.e. the device only speech recognition
What about using shake to dictate during daylight hours or a configurable time period? I know I’d use it exactly like the ring.

Could you tell me the storage size and how much the ring could hold before syncing?

- What is the expected lifespan of the battery, a general average would be nice.
- Will similar features be made for the Pebbles watches. In my mind, any voice input can be turned to text, and put into the phone. Making the Pebble Index 01 a faster input than a watch app IMHO, but available on both.
- Can it be made into a microphone for any service that uses Bluetooth? Useful in conference calls.
- What use use cases does Pebble envision for the device?

Hi Eric, We both here believe that the INDEX01 has big potential to be a really “ Successful Solution …. but looking for a Problem ”
We have some positive thoughts how Community could help in support of the word “Successful”. A good percentage of yesterday’s online views of the Index01 were mixed; but hopefully your community (yes yours!) can help you achieve such in terms of the ‘Problem’
