I just thought I’d share my blog post about setting up the Pebble Time 2 in a privacy-respecting way (including getting health stuff in an exportable format).
Thanks very much for posting about your experience. Very good feature request as well - an easier way to export health data would be great.
You might be interested in trying Pebble Fit. It’s a watch app with multiple workouts and all information is stored locally and can be exported in multiple formats. I’ve been using in place of the default workout app and I like it a lot:
Cool, thanks! I think I’ll stick with the built-in app for now because it automatically syncs with Health Connect, but I’ll keep this in mind as well!
On a side note, do you know of any timer apps which can help with pacing during a workout? I do HIIT workouts and for each exercise, I want little buzzes to help me pace my reps. The overall workout is 1 minute on + 30 seconds rest, so that’s easy enough. But for each exercise, I might want a vibration each second or a vibration every 10 seconds or whatever so that I can pace myself accordingly.
I still haven’t found any timer apps which can do this haha…I’m also not sure how effective it is vs just having the workout video playing on my phone (or just having a timer running on my phone or whatever).
Based on what you’re describing maybe this app will work for you… I haven’t tried it but based on the description it might do the trick:
Awesome review that gave me a few new ideas to setup my watch when it arrives next week. Thanks!
Btw. It’s not a eink screen, it’s a memory LCD.
Hah, thank you! I actually knew that but somehow messed it up when writing my blog post hahahaha. Anyway, fixed!
