Back from the dead! Resurrected my 2016 Pebble Time (and I might sell my Galaxy Ultra)

Hey everyone,

I just had a massive wave of nostalgia that turned into a permanent daily drive change, and I felt the need to share it with people who would understand.

Back in 2016, I bought a Pebble Time. I absolutely loved that watch. However, after Fitbit acquired the company, I tried transitioning to the Rebble ecosystem. Unfortunately, it just didn’t play nice with my smartphones back then-constantly disconnecting and giving me headaches. Frustrated, I tossed the Pebble into a drawer, where it sat collecting dust for years.

…Until last week.

Completely by accident, I stumbled upon the Repebble project. Curiosity got the better of me, so I dug the old Time out of the drawer, plugged it in, and let it charge.

The moment it booted up, it felt like stepping into a time machine straight back to nearly 10 years ago.

I completely forgot how much I genuinely adored this watch. The weight, the tactile buttons, the e-paper display, and just how incredibly comfortable it is to wear.

Right now, my main smartwatch is a Galaxy Watch Ultra LTE. It’s a powerhouse, sure, but honestly? This little blast from the past made me realize how bloated modern smartwatches feel. I think I’m actually going to sell the Galaxy Ultra and hunt down a Pebble Time 2 (or stick to my resurrected Time) for the long haul.

It’s amazing to see that the community is still keeping these legendary devices alive. Long live Pebble!

Definitely buy a Time 2 from Core Devices directly, there are many being sold on eBay for like twice the price.

I’m still using my original Pebble Time, but I need my new PebbleTime 2. The original battery doesn’t hold power for two days; it served me well, but a replacement would be mandatory (there’s battery replacement in AliExpress). I also keep my original Time Steel.

…I wonder (and there must be a way to know) how many of us are still using Pebble watches around the world. I bet these watches are perhaps the oldest e-devices still in use.
