Hey all!
So I’ve been watching the rePebble project since it got announced and was teetering on the idea if I was going to preorder one, fast forward a bit and in december of 2025 my Pixel Watch 2 that I had been using suffered some display damage (literally the Display popped off and I had to glue it back on for the time being) and I decided to pre-order the Pebble Time 2
At the time it had a ship estimation of April for Batch 4, and that was a pretty good estimate for me, I had heard good things about the original line of Pebble watches and the long battery life was very enticing
now almost 4 months of delays and a Pixel Watch 2 that finally fully broke later I’m sitting here wondering if it’s worth even waiting for the PT2 or if I should just get a newer Pixel Watch
The PT2 was suppose to be the replacement for the PW2 which is why I just glued the thing back together since I was expecting it to only be about 4 maybe 5 months until I got it but now I have to go potentially upwards of 3-4 weeks without a watch
so I just have a few questions regarding the PT2 (based on how I use smart watches), since I know some people have it, that will decide if I cancel my preorder or not
Are the Sleep/Steps/Heartrate trackers any good?
Like they don’t need to be the world’s most precise but I hope hope at least semi-close to the Pixel Watch 2, unreliable stats would be pretty much as useful as no stats at all
How’s the durability (both with and without a bumper)
I’ve seen some reddit posts and half of them seem to be about bumpers, I have a tendency to accidentally whack my watch against door frames and I don’t want it to break super quickly
Notification speed?
Are notifs synced to an Android phone well? Can I expect a notif that hits my phone to hit my watch in a relatively quick amount of time
And of course, battery life
I know it’s not the full 30 estimate that they still advertise but going from a watch that I have to charge almost every day I’m still curious on averages for most people
