I’m hoping to get some help regarding the built-in weather app. Basically, since the weather functionality was re-introduced to the new app, it hasn’t worked for me. Originally, it was set up in a way that it only updated every 4 hours or so, and that worked fine. Starting with the very next app update, when they introduced granular controls to adjust the update frequency, the weather simply never updates, not matter which frequency I choose. I have an iPhone 16 Pro, and I’ve stuck strictly to TestFlight builds of the app
So I figured, maybe it’s me? So here’s a list of everything I’ve tried so far.
- Set a manual location, instead of location-based.
- Adjusted the frequency of updates to every possible option.
- Reset all network-based settings on my phone.
- Factory reset my watch (Pebble Time Steel).
- Factory reset my phone.
- Uninstalled the Pebble app and reinstalled it multiple times.
- Waited through multiple app updates, with nothing changing.
- Submitted multiple bug reports with no real response (the occasional “well look into it”).
There are a few things I’ve noticed along the way, however.
My phone’s app network activity report shows that the app is clearly connecting to the open-meteo api, but nothing is updating on my watch if I set it to update every 15 minutes, the app is showing that it’s reaching out every 15 minutes.
If I reinstall the original TestFlight build that introduced weather, it works fine it just only updates every so often, due to the way it was originally coded once the frequency options were introduced, it simply doesn’t work
The OG Pebble app works perfectly fine for weather updating, making me think it certainly can’t be my watch
So all that being said, does anyone have any clue what might be preventing the app from updating to the watch? It’s frustrating me to no end.
