I have a bunch of Google Home stuff set up at my house — smart lights, AC, etc. I’d love to be able to press the Index 01 button and say something like ‘please turn on the living room lights’.
The advantage of Index 01 ove a smart speaker is that:
- It has a physical button, so I’m not relying on a wake word to work (and all the annoyances there)
- I can speak more quietly into my ring finger vs. shout across the room
Is that possible / on the roadmap?
Fwiw I’d even like to have a full conversation loop with Pixel buds on — input via Index 01, output via Pixel buds, for a Gemini / Claude / Chat GPT voice session. But I don’t really care too much about that; mostly I just want to be able to use my smart home stuff.
