Bottom right rubber button falling apart

I have a Pebble 2 Duo and the bottom right button rubber is cracked the entire way around and the rubber part could easily fall out at any time.

I’ve babied this thing, there’s no way this damage is my fault. There are no scuffs or scrapes on the watch anywhere else.

I have multiple pictures but can only post one.

Definitely send an email to Core Devices support too. Hopefully they’ll be able to replace the watch

I did, they gave me three options:

  1. Issue a full refund (and you could use that money to pay for replacement buttons) https://favouritehumandesign.com/product/pebble-2-buttons/
  2. Send you a Pebble Time 2 as a replacement (when it starts shipping), or
  3. Send you a White Pebble 2 Duo now as a replacement (less likely to have this problem as well), since we’ve run out of black watches

I already preordered a Pebble Time 2 and just bought some buttons, so I asked for a white Pebble 2 Duo.

We’ll see how long it takes to arrive.

Well, I slept in the watch and the button is gone. Oh well, it was fun while it lasted. Sucks, but whatcha gonna do?

The buttons on my “developer” Core 2 Duo likewise started disintegrating. I decided to tear away the remaining rubber on that side & cleaned everything up a bit. I then found that small pieces cut from a matchstick were just the right size to sit inside the (former) rubber button depression & to press the button on the PCB. A small dab of hotglue both held the matchstick button in place & sealed around it (although, I would not want to depend upon is “waterproofness”) !!
