When I am on the phone (iOS), my PT2 will periodically vibrate and display a notification to indicate that I am on the phone, which of course I do not need. I recall getting these on my PTS years ago, and the only way to avoid them was to turn off notifications for phone (which I do not want to do, since it would prevent my Pebble from vibrating when I get incoming calls).
Is this an intended behavior? What is the purpose, and can I disable it?
I know there are certain limitations on iPhone vs Android, but on the latter you can go to Settings (last icon along the bottom), choose Phone at the top, then Notifications. Uncheck the “Always send notifications” option to stop sending notifications when the phone screen is on.
Appreciate this, and I’m pretty sure it’s an option on iOS also. The issue is, most of the time when i’m on the phone, I’m using a bluetooth headset, so my phone screen is off.
In general, I’m just confused as to why the watch is set to periodically vibrate at me when I’m on the phone. It’s not the worst thing ever, but it has literally never been useful, it’s a bit distracting, and it wastes a tiny bit of battery. What’s the purpose? Does it happen with other apps, like if you’re on a Whatsapp or Signal call? I don’t use these but wonder if it’s specific to the phone app.
Ah, I misunderstood. When you say “on the phone” you mean talking on a phone call, not using your phone’s screen.
I can’t say I’ve experienced what you are saying, that while you’re on a phone call the watch will vibrate and indicate that you are indeed, on a phone call. I’ll get notifications from other apps (which vibrate), but otherwise the phone call interface is on my watch and doesn’t periodically vibrate.
While I was on Rebble I used the Dialer for Pebble app instead of the native Pebble phone call app, but since switching to the new Pebble devices and app I’m using the native Pebble phone call app without issue.
