Where is the feature/app list?

I’m looking at getting a Pebble, but I can’t find a basic list of built in features and apps. I see that there are references to Weather, maybe calendar notifications, and some health tracking in the blog, but no details. Is there a specific list of the built in features anywhere?

Hey there! That is a really good piece of feedback and something that we’ll work on to get live on the site. We’ve been working extremely hard on bringing Pebble back and maybe it’s been a lot of thinking “if you’re here you must already know what a Pebble is” without answering the questions for “new” people.

A great place to start would be the announcement blog post: Introducing two new Pebble watches!

We have an ever expanding help site (Pebble Watch | Pebble Help Center) which has a ton of info on what any particular feature does, but not an overview of “what the heck is even a Pebble watch?” We’ll get going on that ASAP.

While you’re here, did you have any specific questions?

Ok, glad to know I wasn’t just missing it.

The things I’m wondering about specifically are:

  1. Stopwatch
  2. Timer
  3. Activity/Workout Tracker
  4. Sleep tracking
  5. Upcoming calendar events
  6. Text messages
  7. Incoming phone caller id
  8. Text messages
  9. Media controls
  10. Voice controls
  11. Left handed mode

I’m also looking at using it with a Commodore Callback, so I’m wondering about the possibility of a Sailfish OS app or if the Android version works?

You can search existing apps on

And

Timer app exists as a system app but is not as nice as the Timer+ app on the appstore.

Stopwatch doesn’t exist as a system app but you can find many on the appstore.

There is health tracking with the Time 2, it uses the heart-rate monitor and accelerometer. Health tracking is not as good as a mainstream smartwatch.

Sleep tracking exists too, and can connect with third-party apps such as Sleep as Android.

Upcoming calendar events are shown in the timeline view, and show up as a banner at the bottom of the screen 15 minutes before they occur. Currently multi-day events aren’t really supported, they just show a banner at the start of the event on the first day.

All notifications can (and are by default) mirrored to the watch. Calls show as a fullscreen notification with caller ID and vibrate.

Media controls are done through the Music system app. There are third-party apps too, mostly for Android.

Voice controls don’t exist for the OS. There are third-party AI assistant apps that let you speak to them (all are paid or require an API key), and there was talk about adding the Index 01’s AI features to the watches too but no progress has been made on that front AFAIK.

Left-handed mode exists, it just flips the screen around. Any app (including system apps) that show a button indicator on the side will be wrong though. There’s currently no way for a regular app to know whether it’s been flipped or not.

Also replying to text messages from your watch exists on Android. I’m not sure about on iOS. You cannot send new texts though, only replies.
