Websockets for iOS… eta? :)

Hey everyone! I’m grateful for all of the hard work that’s gone into making the new Pebble app, it’s great so far!

I did wonder if there’s a timeline for iOS websocket integration. I’ve almost completed an online multiplayer game for the Pebble, which primarily uses websockets. I have a REST API workaround for iOS at the moment but this introduces latency and negatively impacts the user experience.

I’m hoping to release the app around the time that the first batch of PT2s start arriving (basically after I can test on the new hardware). Is there a chance that iOS websocket integration will be complete by then? Or is it a longer term task?

Unfortunately no ETA at the moment– this requires some reworking of the PKJS engine in the mobile app.

Thanks for getting back to me! Sounds like quite a large task that will take some time. I’ll just add a warning for iOS users in the meantime.
