Shipping status by color

Frankly I’m very frustrated with the team’s shipping deadlines. Not that the wait it’s too long, I’m a batch 5 but even waiting a year or two for this product would be worth it. However, the team’s blatant disregard for deadlines they set themselves is discouraging. I would much rather you set one conservative deadline and deliver before it than pushing the deadline 10 times. When I check the website to buy a new pebble it says 2 days for silver grey, and 2 weeks for anything else. The main question I have is can I expect the black red time 2 to actually ship in 2 weeks(assuming 1 week shipping to san francisco) or should I switch to silver grey for better more reasonable shipping date.

Hi,

i ordered the black/grey PT2 that was i batch 3 i preordered in january this year.. and just got my watch a week ago… very pleased with it.

Hey Dinesh, we’ve done what we could and communicated transparently that all ship dates were estimates. Everyone who preordered clicked through our warning that made it clear that ship dates are estimates.

If you send us an email info@repebble.com we can look into your order and see if something else isn’t stuck (eg colour not selected).

I’ve mentioned this before, but typically estimates are at least somewhat accurate.

Thanks for the swift reply! I might have not communicated this clearly, but I greatly appreciate your efforts to bring back pebble. Also, I don’t mind missing shipping estimates, I’m just annoyed that deadlines keep getting missed. To clarify, this isn’t because I feel betrayed or anything, it’s because when the deadline gets close, me and my friends are checking shipping dashboards roughly every 2 hours. I’d just prefer a conservative estimate next time. Btw, what should I include in the email? @eric

How do you know they weren’t conservative?

When you send an email to your customers with this text:

We’ve built over 23,000 Pebble Time 2’s since late March, and fulfillment is more than 80% complete. All pre-orders will ship out by July 31.

It does not sound like an estimate, it sounds like a promise.

And i agree with Denish, i don´t mind waiting longer and i really look forward to owning the pebble, but you should not make promises you can´t keep. It does not help if you try to build a company people can trust.

Cuz u missed it twice

Technically, and I’m sure I’m not the only one who read it with this context when we agreed, what you posted says “the shipping date” and indicated, at least to me but I’m sure I’m not the only one, the shipping date provided when we pre-ordered, not all future shipping updates. And you’re email said “will ship by the 31st” as already pointed out. “Will” carried the most weight in that statement to a lot of us. No mention of anymore delays. “Will ship by the 31st”. And those of us waiting, while we are mostly still willing to wait, would appreciate a better answer than this poor response you gave Dinesh. I know I would appreciate knowing if it’s gonna be at least a couple weeks still so I can spend the money I’m holding on to for the shipping. Things are hard here because of the political situation, getting more expensive by the day and while I had an extra 200+ bucks to throw at this when I pre-ordered, I am not in a position right now where I can just hold on to 40 bucks for a couple weeks to pay for something that might not need to be paid for until after my next check. Also, it’s been 5 days since I contacted yall about this over email and I still haven’t received a response.

I have never used a smart watch but a Pebble Time Steel, i joined the Kickstarter after it was added to the campaign. For about a decade I had one on my wrist, and I have felt kinda naked since the last one died. Have been super excited to be able to get a new Pebble, so im sorry if I am disappointed in this rollout and how it’s being handled.

To add to this, personally, I think it would have been fine if you had at least communicated an July 31st or August 1st that “Sorry, couldn’t make it after all, please be more patient” or something. But this complete silence has made me (at least) feel like I’m the only one who has not yet received anything at all, so it must have been my fault, I must have missed something or the mails were getting bounced by the spam filter or something.

That is not a good feeling after spending this much money on a pre-order in good faith.

At least in coming to this forum I have been able to see that I’m not the only one. Just wish there was an official statement as well… I don’t mind continuing to wait as long as I’m being kept in the loop and assured that I will receive it eventually.

FYI, they did respond to my emails finally. No new I formation. Told me my watch hadn’t shipped, which I already knew. Said they were working to get them out the door, but didn’t have an update on when.

Yes, I have gotten the same mail.

Got the same email. I’m cancelling my border in the next few days if there’s no movement.

Funny that my original question still hasn’t been answered… Though I appreciate that many people had similar sentiments as me and hopefully this thread pushes the pebble team to take action. Cough cough blog post cough cough
