Shake or flick to backlight doesn't seem to work

Hi, I just got my Time 2 yesterday. Still setting it up fully, but one thing I noticed, the shake or flick to light up backlight doesn’t seem to work. Things I changed to test it:

  • enable Backlight Motion
  • disable Ambient Light Sensor
  • disable Dynamic Backlight Intensity
  • change Motion Sensitivity from Very Low to Very High, one by one

and no matter how much I shake the watch, it won’t light up.

I tested the Compass app and the accelerometer seems to be working fine. I also tried Reset to Default based on some comment on Reddit, and it seemed to work once, but I couldn’t reproduce it afterwards. Tapping the screen to light it, and using the buttons will light it normally. I’m on Android.

What could be the issue here?

SOLVED: it is now working properly after doing the three button hard reset and a regular reboot afterwards.

You could try updating firmware if there’s an update available? Barring that I would just submit a bug report through the Pebble app

I did the hardware hard reset (holding left, top right and center right buttons), and then a soft reboot and it started working properly.
