Questions about Heart Rate Monitor and Step Counts

Hey all! Really excited about the new pebbles, I still use my original (with a replacement battery) so excited for the new models.

The question I had was around the heart rate monitor and step count data in the Time 2, does the data on android go to Google Health Connect or Google Fit? Or is it in a self contained health app in the Pebble ecosystem? I was hoping to aggregate that data with other health information but wasn’t sure how it worked when it was collecting the data.

Does anyone know if the original Pebble Health app allowed for data integration anywhere else?

I don’t know what the state of Health is in the Core app, but the old Pebble app let you sync to Google Health.

I too am interested in knowing if the Pebble Health will sync with Google Fit (or Health Connect) as I need the steps to be counted by my insurance incentive rebates. I’m getting my PR2 in May, 2026 but also want to see such updates with my older PT, PTS, PTR, OG, and P2HR.

We’re hoping to add Apple Health + Google Fit sync in the near future!

My Pebble Time was syncing steps with Apple Health. I’ve got data from 2017 till 2022 in there, so the expectation would be to work (eventually). Looking at the changelog it seems work is still in progress for it. Not sure if the original mobile app was part of the buy back or open-sourced, or maybe it was completely incompatible with newer mobile OS versions. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Would you have tentative timelines so we just wait and ask you again if dateline given had passed?

Hi there!

I don’t know how I missed the original announcement that Pebble will be coming back, but now I am really stoked! I will be ordering myself the “full-fat” Time 2 soon, because I am interested in the heart-rate monitor.

A quick question regarding the current app - I assume that it will be able to send data via the individual Google and Apple platform health API’s. Will there be a possibility to use a self-hosted solution like SparkyFitness (see GitHub - CodeWithCJ/SparkyFitness: SparkyFitness: Built for Families. Powered by AI. Track food, fitness, water, and health — together. ) instead? My main motivation is to try and take control over my own data rather than it being farmed off to help make other people money.

Thanks!

Thanks for making a post! At the moment, we don’t have any plans to implement health sync with third party APIs.

Currently the mobile app has no UI for health, it just stores averages and syncs those back to the watch. There will eventually be Health sync to Apple/Google though.
