Index Webhook implementation questions

I’m looking forward to using the Index Webhook functionality.

I have a couple of technical questions about the ‘correct’ way to handle my Webhook interaction.

Ideally, I’d like it if a ‘successful’ (2XX) call to my Webhook means no other actions occur (e.g. no local notes or reminders created/updated because the Webhook has handled it) - is that how the Webhook implementation works?

Could you also clarify what happens if my Webhook returns a 4XX/5XX code? For example, will the Pebble App ‘retry’ the Webhook under any circumstances? Will that ‘failure’ be surfaced anywhere? Obviously my Webhook will be doing its own error handling, but I’d like to better understand when/what I should let the Pebble App know about (and when/what I should ‘silently’ handle at my end).

Thank you for any detail you can provide.

Hey there, currently, the agent and any actions will run before the webhook regardless of the result. If it fails there isn’t any retry logic yet it will just fail silently, there’s no processing of any status code. The feature is definitely basic and experimental right now.

Thank you, @Trevor, that’s all I really need to know (i.e. that my WebHook response code won’t cause any unanticipated behavior downstream). WebHook = such a cool feature…
