I have a pebble time 2 connected to an iPhone.
I have previously updated the watch firmware to v4.36.2 through the pebble iOS app.
I can see newer releases on the GitHub project (v4.37.0 and v4.38.2 etc.) and in the pebbleOS changelog (v4.38.1).
When I click “Check for updates” in the iOS app it doesn’t show any new firmware update available.
Do I need to do a manual firmware update here? Or is there a problem with newer releases preventing them being made available to devices?
EDIT: I have already tried to reset the watch and delete/reset the phone app but no luck.

I got my PT2 connected to Android. The current Pebble OS is still v4.36.2
Clicking on “Check for Updates” does not indicate newer OS.
Don’t know how or when they push new releases. Those you mention might be “beta” ???
Could you provide a link to those releases you mention - can’t find them.
Cheers

It’s likely that coredevice will initially roll out the new version to a small group to monitor its stability.
Those who can’t wait can sideload the official pbz onto their watch:
https://github.com/coredevices/PebbleOS/releases/download/v4.38.2/normal_obelix_pvt_v4.38.2.pbz

The changelog accessible from inside the app is Notion
The GitHub releases are at Releases · coredevices/PebbleOS · GitHub

Thanks for that. I wasn’t sure which of the many files on the GitHub release was the correct firmware file.
I have loaded it on now and appears to be working ok.
EDIT: I couldn’t see any sort of checksum/signature available on the releases page. Are the pbz files signed and checked by the device?

You’ll need to carry out the check yourself beforehand. The SHA-256 hash is shown in the release list (9c419794008111b6bbb0787ac4ee31a932a5b18e37fb16e35705550d29675ca0)
You can then verify this on your system after downloading:
Linux:
sha256sum normal_obelix_pvt_v4.38.2.pbz
macOS:
shasum -a 256 normal_obelix_pvt_v4.38.2.pbz
Windows (PowerShell):
Get-FileHash normal_obelix_pvt_v4.38.2.pbz -Algorithm SHA256
The hash output must match exactly with 9c419794008111b6bbb0787ac4ee31a932a5b18e37fb16e35705550d29675ca0.
