Can't add locations in the Pebble Android app

Just received and set up my Time 2. Loaded the Pebble app on my Pixel 9 and almost everything appears to be working, but I cannot add a location in Settings\Weather. When I tap ‘+’ to add a location, the dialog pops up and it doesn’t matter what location I add, nothing happens. It doesn’t appear to even attempt to search for the location - the dialog just sits there until I tap ‘cancel’. I even tried switching Android keyboards in case there was something wonky in the “Enter” behavior…

Android location permissions for the Pebble app are set to “Allow all the time” and “Use precise location.” Pebble app version is 1.0.15.11

Any suggestions?

Hey there can you post some screenshots? Or maybe a video?

The “search location” pop up you have to type in an address which it will auto fill, but please send over some screenshots

Please send us a bug report in the app - it provides additional logs that help us track down the bug. Please attach screenshots as well. Thanks!

OK, submitted a bug report in the app - with pictures attached. Here are those screenshots…

Admittedly it doesn’t look like much, but that’s exactly the point. This is all I get - there’s no auto-fill of location information. It just sits there until I cancel… (also, I tried to attach multiple screenshots, but apparently that’s not allowed because I’m a new user)

Just type in the Zip Code.

Tried that too. Same result.

I’ve tried multiple different cities. Tried just the zip code. Tried a full address, including street, city, state and zip… Same thing every time. No auto-fill… it just sits there until I cancel..

I am having the same issue with my time 2. I type in a city and nothing pops up just like in the screenshot. My phone is a pixel 8 pro

Same here with a Pixel 9a and GrapheneOS. In addition to typing in a city name / address I tried to enter the latitude and longitude, but that didn’t work either (being able to enter the coordinates would be useful for hiking or going somewhere without a nearby city / address).

OK, I figured out what was going on. Location is working now.

For my fellow GrapheneOS users, here’s what I had to do:

  1. Go to settings and search for Location (I already had location enabled, but had to do two extra steps)
  2. Under “Geocoder,” select “GrapheneOS server”
  3. Under “Network Location,” select “GrapheneOS Apple proxy”

That’s it. Once I did those two things, I could input a location and the dialog would search/select it.

@eric and @Trevor - please close this one and mark it solved. Thanks for your help!

FWIW, I believe the Venn diagram of Pebble users and GrapheneOS users is likely to show quite a bit of overlap… They’re both great solutions with “just enough” technology that doesn’t leave users committed to the big tech providers.
