From recent posts, it seems touch is not supported yet..
Thats really a bummer and I would add a +1 to PLEASE PLEASE enable touch gestures for at least the latest Pebble Time 2 2025 that actually has a touch screen.
My touchscreen works just fine–make sure you have touch enabled and the latest firmware.

Apps work fine with touch - Watch Face however does not.
I can touch the watch face to activate the backlight. Other interactions I have not tried and perhaps are not part of the watch face I use.
That’s not the touch that people are talking about when they say they want touch for watch faces. Backlight is completely a separate mechanism that isn’t controlled by the watch face.
