OG Pebble time stuck after update

Android App Version 1.0.7.18

OG Pebble Time LE - after update running v4.4.3-rbl as per Watch → System

Watch is functional, but Phone and Watch are not connecting. Android app just shows “Rebooting after update - Waiting” and shows the Recovery firmware v3.0.2-prf.

Resetting again didn’t help. It just asked me to reinstall v4.4.3-rbl.

Turning BT on/off (both phone and watch) did not help. Powering watch down, and up again did not help.

Watch → System → Bluetooth shows the phone as “Connected” (although, staring at it, it appears to occassionally disconnect and come back). Phone BT also sees the watch as connected.

I have not tried resetting the app itself, since I have a new Pebble White as well, don’t want to junk everything.

Any help is appreciated!

After updating the firmware, does the watch itself behave normally? If so, try unpairing everything throguh the watch Bluetooth settings, the phone system Bluetooth settings, and the Pebble app. Then try re-pairing.

I tried that once, but let me try again when I’m back home on Saturday. Thanks for suggesting that!

@Flynn ‘s response was spot on. I thought I had tried it, but apparently not.

  • deleted entry for phone on watch
  • deleted entry for watch in Bluetooth menu of phone
  • deleted entry for watch in App
  • then hit the + button again.

The watch IMMEDIATELY showed up again, then prompted me on the watch to re-pair. After that, it “negotiated” and everything was fine.

Cool. If I could now figure out how to replace the battery, which has max 50% of its original capacity…
