LECO Full Character Set

I am continuing to work on my “Departures” app, which shows tram and bus departure times for Finland and Estonia. I am using LECO 20 for the route numbers, because I like designing apps that fit into the Pebble branding and aesthetic. The problem I’m having is the included LECO character set is somewhat limited, with characters like O and X being omitted. It’s even more dire on Aplite.

Ok, so bring in LECO with all of the characters I want, right? Problem: LECO is a licensed font, and my app is free. I’m guessing that RePebble/Core Devices doesn’t have the ability to sublicense the font out to developers?

That seems like a bug! Please report it in the Pebble app with a screenshot (Pebble app → Settings → New Bug Report).

just got word from devs - unfortunately our LECO version does not have all characters.

Thanks for checking! I had a feeling that was the case. I think the next step is to see how much it would cost to buy a license. If it’s just a few bucks, no big deal.
