If I’m understanding things correctly, a “List” is a just a container that can hold various items and has a name such as “Shopping List”, “To-Do List”, “Notes to self”, etc. The items themselves have a type of either “Note”, “Checklist” or “Reminder”.
I’d like to be able to add various items to various checklists like a Packing List, a Shopping List or a To-Do List. I have already created these lists. When I use phrasing such as “Add x to y” where x is the item name and y is the list name, the items don’t get added to the respective list as a checklist item.
How do I designate the item’s type so it is added to the list as a checklist item, etc…. For example, I want to create a packing list for an upcoming trip. I have created that new list named “Packing List” and thought I could just say something like “Add socks to my packing list”, but that does not work as expected. When I view the “Socks” item from the Index Feed, it has an item type of “Sent” and says that it was routed to iPhone Reminders which I have selected to use in the Settings instead of the built-in reminders, but why is “Add socks to my Packing List” being interpreted as a reminder?
So how do I, in this example, phrase it so that “Socks” are added as a checklist item to the list named “Packing List”?
BTW, I read the FAQ and help info and perhaps this is a bug and not really a question. I have reported it but just in case it isn’t a bug, hopefully someone can guide me to the right way to do this. FWIW, my Index is set up to use built-in Notes and iOS Reminders.
