Heart rate value does not show up in watch faces (PT2)

Today my PT2 arrived. I’m so very happy to have a Pebble again!!!

One thing though I didn’t get to work is the heart rate value to show up in watchfaces that supposedly support it. It just lists — as heart rate value. The heartrate is working fine in the Health watch app.

Am I missing something? Some permission maybe?

What watch faces ?

I’ve a new PT2, and “Quartz by Dalpek” just shows a static heart icon in the bottom middle, for instance. Not sure if it’s meant to animate or owt

I tried two watch faces:

  • Simple Pixels:

  • Quartz by Dalpek (the 2 dashes should be the heartrate value)

Screenshot see next post (newbie limitation)

Yup, same here in Quartz and Simple. If I press top-right button, then top-right again, it shows a heart rate, so I’m not dead, and the sensor is working

It’s not just you

Have you reached our to the watchface developers via the store page at all ?

No not yet, I’ll maybe check a few more watchfaces first. If tey have the same issue, I guess it’s an OS thing and not a watchface thing.

It seems, the fault is with the apps indeed. I tried BlockFace and there heartrate works.

Yup, same here (also, great clear watch face. Everything is nice and large).

Do let us know if the developers report back on the others, Quartz is a great geeky show-off one

I also have a PT2, and so far I had success with Radium2, Edge Info Watchface, and also BlockFace. Everything else either shows - - or doesn’t have a way to show it at all.

Since I don’t have my PT2 yet, can you please let me know if the displayed Heart Rate works on the Pebble Mesh v1.55 watchface?

Yup, seems fine.

Is there a common mistake or bug in one of the libraries or something ?

Same problem here,
quartz by dalpek not showing heartrate

Ok, I was wrong.
The watchface is ony to display a hearthrate with two digits and not three digits.
And it’s only updating once a day.

Just got my PT2 2 days ago and experimenting with it. Quartz by Dalpek not showing heart rate seems to be common.

I wonder how the heart rate monitoring works in general. Is that really just a short sample every 10 (30/60) minutes? Is there a way to enable it continuously? Yes, I know, drains battery, but would be nice to have it active for maybe 15 mins and then disable it again.

Add MU-TH-UR Terminal to the list of watchfaces having issues showing HR. Messing with HR settings, like starting a run or walk to kick of continuous HR measurement, disabling and enabling HR tracking, etc. will sometimes cause it to start working, but it inevitably stops. I can confirm that HR tracking itself does continue to work, as evidenced by historical HR data in the Pebble phone app.

On my watch, the heart rate doesn’t change when using Pebble Mesh watchface.
