Would be great to have the number of unread notifications in the SDK.
Watchfaces could notify user of unread notifications on phone (or watch).
+1 This is a dealbreaker for me. In the old days, a companion app was needed, but it seems that none of the ‘new’/recently-updated watchfaces have a persistent way to show unread notifications on a watchface.
In the old days I used Instant for Pebble, which was fantastic (it showed icons for every app that had an unread notification). I’ve lived with a Garmin watch for the past 5 years, and they have an API for a basic unread count, which I’ve been able to live with, but I’d love to get back to a new Pebble.

Same here. Another related bit: at least on android clearing the notifications on the watch won’t clear on the phone, which would be useful.
That’s because you can’t interact with the notification outside of the first popup screen. It would be nice to be able to go back into the list and reply from the history if the notification is still present on the phone, but oh well.
Yeah the way it handles notifications seems really unintuitive compared to the current way all other watches do it. I really just want my phone and my watch to be in sync with the notifications. Having them all hang out on my watch for a set period of time doesn’t have a logical function for me.
