Settings improvements

I think the settings could use an update. We need explanations for some of the settings and what they do. For example "“standby mode” gives 0 explanation as to what it does. “Quiet time” what is it specifically? What does it block and not block? I think we also need more control. I get notifications after a mid-day nap saying that I didn’t sleep long enough, I would love the ability to turn that off. I get a reminder about how many steps I took, I would like to turn that one off as well. Long term I would love to see much more control over these sorts of settings

Those two are, strangely enough, controlled from the phone-side. If you go into Settings → Health in the Pebble app, you can uncheck the boxes for the sleep/steps “insights” notifications. I feel like I saw a plan somewhere that they were planning also put those into the watch settings, which I think would be a good idea.

You are right, thank you. They are there. I just didn’t realize that’s what they were, because most of the settings don’t explain what they actually are.

I agree that it is always better to have things clearly marked, but just to answer your questions…

Standby Mode, when enabled, disconnects your watch from Bluetooth after 15 minutes of inactivty. This is great for overnight (if you’re not using it to track sleep), as it will save a lot of unnecessary power consumption.

Quiet Time simply turns off vibrations, so you won’t be alerted in that manner when notifications come through.

Quiet time also leaves the notifications on the watch screen until they’re dismissed, there’s no timeout for them.

Can you schedule Standby Mode? I would love to have it automatically turn on for “bedtime” like I do DnD on my phone. Even better if it could be controlled BY your phone if you want to coincide with DnD if you want.

In the Quiet Time setting area you can choose Notifications: Hide and/or Interruptions: Quiet all notifications if you prefer not to have them stick to your watch screen.

You can schedule Quiet Time, so that it silences notifications from a starting time to an end time. You cannot schedule Standby Mode at this point, however.
