While [patiently] waiting for the Round 2 to ship, I’ve been planning out some watchfaces. I’ve noticed that you can configure them to update on a second tick, and there seem to be several published faces that do this.
Which begs the question, what is the refresh cycle rating of the displays used in the Time 2 and Round 2? What’s the rated number of cell refreshes before they degrade and lose fidelity? I’ve only had a notion of this on older e-ink displays meant for static images, and in that context having 86400 refreshes a day, 604800 refreshes a week, 31.5m refreshes a year doesn’t seem wise (yes I know that the ENTIRE screen isn’t changing, usually).
Alternatively, I’d be happy to be convinced it’s a non-issue.
