One advantage Pebbles had over other smart watches was that you could pair them with more than one phone. Ideal if you have a work phone and a personal phone. Whichever phone you currently had with you, the watch would be connected automatically.
This possibility is gone with the new watches, without it ever being mentioned before purchase. Even manual switching from one phone to another is a pain.
Please bring back the possibility to pair with multiple phones. I don’t care if it halves my battery life, as long as I can use the same watch with my work phone and my private phone.
It’s not because of battery life - it’s because it didn’t work, in really annoying ways (it did work on BT Classic Pebbles, but was always fundamentally broken on BLE Pebbles, and the new Pebbles are BLE only).
It might be easier to support in the future once we do a bunch of foundational work (reversed PPOG).
So is this fundamental work actually planned or just something that may or may not happen in the far future?
For now, wouldn’t it be at least an option to switch between pairings manually on the watch? Turning one connection on would turn off the other one, and vice versa? That would allow switching with a few button presses on the watch instead of the painful current process.
BTW, I would rather use BT classic instead of LE if I had that feature back, this is what I meant by reducing battery life.
