Using a Time 2 (obelix) with firmware v4.9.183 on Android 11, I typically get a day of stable operation before the Pebble App repeatedly crashes on start, both when accessed and in the background (a notification is issued and then disappears quickly). After clearing app storage and reloading any apps and watchfaces I plan to use, the app begins to work again. Android’s “companion device manager” is disabled for the app to be able to run on this device.
I’ve been using the watch for about five days, and today I had issues connecting to Wi-Fi until I rebooted the phone, whereupon Wi-Fi connected as expected, and the Pebble app started to crash again. I have been unable to keep health tracking data as a result, since I am regularly clearing app storage.
I’ve experimented with not loading watchfaces or apps with weather implementations, only using those that explicitly support my Time 2, and going with or without the local language model. None of these measures seem to affect the stability of the app, but I am willing to follow debug instructions if a developer wants further insight into my particular device environment (Unihertz Atom L).
A bug report has been submitted (though with the app in a working state, therefore probably no relevant logs). Thanks for reading.
