Pebbles in 2026 and Continuous Glucose Monitors (CGM) and diabetes monitoring for T1D

This is a copy/paste of Reddit - The heart of the internet - so the other topics refers to Reddit posts

There have been a few posts recently on this topic, often from Pebble enthusiasts on behalf of non-technical diabetic users.

I ended up doing a bunch of research on this topic. I’m not an expert on this; in fact, I’m barely a novice, but I want to share some of the results. See not-yet-definitive-pebble-guide/pebble_cgm.md at main · clach04/not-yet-definitive-pebble-guide · GitHub

There are a healthy number of apps/watchfaces in the Rebble app store, some of them rather old. I can’t comment on whether they work. It’s confusing as there are different tech stacks, so some CGMs will only work with certain Pebble watchfaces / apps.

Most of my research was on the Dexcom Share API, hence why there is more content there.
I’ve helped someone set up T1000 CGM watchface, which was released this year in 2026 - it was easy to setup and seems reliable (more reliable than FitBit Versa 4 running Glances, which supports a lot of different CGM interfaces).

Hope this is useful, Pull Requests welcome

I’m pre-diabetic in Scotland, so definitely not on a continuous glucose monitor at present (and hopefully I may avoid for some time to come) but after buying a simple self blood testing device, one thing that I learned is that different countries express the (same) blood glucose level using different units (mmol/litre or mg/decilitre, apparently).

I haven’t even got my new pebble to see if you give an option for units, but as I was oblivious until recently I thought worth flagging that if it isn’t included, it might be a welcome feature in a future update. Sorry if this is redundant because you already had taken it into account - I really can’t wait to get my new watch, so I am reading a lot of posts on here and getting excited!

To clarify I’m NOT the author of the linked watchface (I have hacked on it, and have a fork - see Time too small · Issue #9 · andrewchilds/t1000-pebble-cgm · GitHub).

See t1000-pebble-cgm/src/pkjs/config.js at f6432df2fc4ee568e537c8134c9bd59132185fe3 · andrewchilds/t1000-pebble-cgm · GitHub for the unit supports, based on my understanding of the UK and NHS I think you’ll be covered (you won’t want the default out-of-the-box units setting; I suspect you want mmol/L). - BUT again, I really don’t know as much as I’d like about BCG monitoring.
