# Notifications don't automatically go away

In the last few weeks the notifications on my time 2 don’t clear automatically. Every notification stays active on the screen until I clear it. Current notification time out is set to 30 seconds. I don’t believe I’ve changed any settings and can’t find a way to change the behavior.

Make sure quiet time is turned off. By default you can hold the back button to toggle it when you’re on the watchface screen

Hey there, you most likely have Quiet Time enabled. By default, if you hold the “back” button (left side of the watch) from an active watchface, it will enable (or disable) Quiet Time. If you want notifications to be dismissed even when Quiet Time is enabled, you can turn that option on under the Quiet Time settings.

Is the “Quiet Time — Manual” option the actual state of Quiet Time? Like, if you check the box it’ll immediately turn on Quiet Time and vice versa?

1. Hold down back on a watchface is the default “turn it off and on” or you could set Quiet Time to another Quick Launch option
2. Checking Quiet Time Manual in Settings \> Quiet Time on the watch
3. Checking Quiet Time Manual in Settings \> Quiet Time on the phone app
Those all do the same thing. Try turning on Quiet Time using Quick Launch, the check will turn on in the phone app. Turn it on in the watch settings and you can turn it off in Quick Launch. All three do the exact same thing and engage with one another

Thank you all! that was it. I remember now a few weeks ago my kid was getting button happy with the watch. That’s probably when it got changed.
