# Mic and/or speech recognition problem

Hi all! I just can’t get my mic and/or speech recognition to work at all. I have tried it in the “Note to Self” and “Nirvana” apps, and have tried to reply to chat messages verbally. Nothing works. I get a red screen with a “Speech Not Detected” message after it tries to process my voice.

Maybe it just doesn’t like my voice? 😆 My settings: speech recognition is local with cloud fallback; offline model parakeet-tdt-0.6b-v3; cloud recognition provider Wispr Flow. App version 1.8.0.7. PebbleOS 4.33.1. Phone is Android 16 (Motorola Power G).

Any thoughts? TIA for any help!

Hey there, if you haven’t already could you submit a bug report? Head to Settings \> Phone \> Get Help \> New Bug Report

Thats usually the best way forward!

Have you tried doing it with the phone unlocked? It never processes local requests for me even with cloud fallback with the device locked.

Try using the cloud-only speech recognition? The local one can be quite bad

Me neither, phone has to be unlocked. Didn’t use to work this way.

Thanks, everyone. I got it working after physically re-booting the watch. I will submit a bug report if it stops working again. I appreciate the responses!
