Index 01 - mute mic during phone call

I’m looking forward to the Index, and realized a feature that would add to it’s usefulness to me - muting/unmuting my bluetooth microphone during phone calls. I do low voltage work including service calls at businesses through an MSP, and sometimes I’ll be on a call for an hour or more with someone at a call center that is managing the project, but I’ll also need to talk to a manager or employee on site, etc. It’s extremely handy to be able to quickly mute and unmute calls when suddenly someone is talking to me and I don’t want to confuse the person on the phone with the side conversation.

I used to have earbuds that had it built in, and it was wonderful (but sadly the call quality of those buds was awful so I had to get different ones). I don’t know if the Index will be able to be context aware like that (to know if a phone call is active), but that would be a pretty killer feature for me.

From my understanding of the Index 01, you would need to have the mic quite close to you otherwise it would reject any input from it. I’d be interested in understanding a bit more while I patiently wait for mine.

Alan-J, I think the OP means they want to use the Index’s button to toggle the mic on their computer/phone/wherever the call is.

I could see this being possible if/when the Index’s button can be used to trigger actions on a Pebble watch or within the Pebble app.

Yeah, I’m looking to be able to have the Index app be aware of when I’m in a phone call on my smartphone (Android), and have one of the click commands (double or triple click for example) toggle the mic mute.
