Got a week on my first charge of the PT2. That seems to track with others. More playing and setup and looking at watch faces, so expect that number to rise. How about anybody else?

On my OG, PSteel, and P2, if they set around awhile, my first re-charge NEVER lasted long. But after that depleted, the NEXT charge it would go back to normal battery life. I thought this was just a quirk, but now I’m wondering if there is something in software that happens on a first charge after a bit of time? Just speculating.

I bring this up because my old Chevy Volt does this. It basically gets very conservative on re-charge after it sets for longer periods of time and it takes a few cycles to charge all the way back to its potential.

My PT2 seems to be on track for about a 2 week battery life, losing ~7% charge per day. I use pretty conservative watchfaces but get a lot of notifications and have been fiddling with it a lot since it’s new!

It would be nice to be able to track how a watchface impacts battery life (or maybe just notify if it suddenly starts draining faster than usual), I noticed that one I selected recently ate 10% of my battery in just a few hours for some reason

on track for about 2 weeks with my current selection

</div>

I’ve been keeping track of my battery life (both via manual eyeball checks and via the Muninn app), and I’m dropping roughly 3-5% day to day. I did plug it in on day 1 and got it to 83%, and plan to let it go down to 20% or so before I charge it up… but overall, I’m pretty impressed with it so far.

I haven’t been super diligent about tracking my battery life, but 2 weeks seems about right.

</div>

My Time 2 is eating 20-30% per day with a very simple watchface and maybe 20-30 notifications a day which seems very excessive. I enabled the battery breakdown and it’s mostly stuff I can’t even adjust (system and bluetooth) - should I do a support ticket for that?

</div>

Since it’s all the same watchface I’d try another first. It’s an old face so it has to be scaled, and that might show under system rather than the watchface itself.

Please send a bug report in the app if it’s abnormally bad (like, 3.4 days using TTMMBRN would not be expected).

FWIW I just charged after over 31 days (with a few % still left), running TTMMBRN with health disabled.

The battery life of my Time 2 is amazing. \> 20 days. Got it last week and haven’t charged it yet.

(I did disable motion activation of the backlight because it didn’t work reliably and I didn’t need it.)

That is very interesting data, thanks for sharing. I will have to try turning off motion activation of the backlight to see if that greatly helps with battery life. A bit sad to hear it was unreliable for you because the motion activation of the backlight for my OG Pebble was my favorite feature.

FWIW, my new one seems to be no different or maybe a little better than my OG and Pebble 2 SE with motion for the backlight. Not Apple Watch great, but still passable.

I realized that I seldom needed it. Most of the times the screen is readable because of ambient light or I can double tap the screen to activate the backlight.

I charged it on Friday and in this cycle it estimates a battery life of 19.9 days.

</div>

Wasn’t the original announcement 30 days on PT2? That was later corrected to “2 weeks until we have optimized BT to get the 30 days”.

So have these optimizations been done or are they still to come, so we can expect battery life to double compared to now?

After some back and forth with the support team my watch is now reporting 20-ish days battery life (0.1 to 0.2% hourly drop). It basically only involved a factory-reset of the watch, maybe something was iffy from the previos firmware updates.

I have health tracking on (sleep, steps, 10-minute heartrate monitoring) as well as dynamic backlight incl. motion activation. I use 1-2 alarms a day (vibration) as well as the Timer+ app from time to time.

5 days is certainly not correct if you don’t use seconds watchfaces or permanent heartrate monitoring.

Hi all,

New member here, but long time user of my beloved Pebble Steel OG. I just got my new T2, and from day one my battery drainage is horrible. I’t won’t last for 24 hours. After reading your suggestions here I filled a bug report. I already stopped using the health, dynamic backligt and blinding backlight options. I’m on my third factory reset and hope it would solve things. Oh and it’s OS is updated to the lates version.

Have you done a full charge cycle until the watch decides that it is definitely fully charged?

My Time 2 arrived with ~60% battery and showed as 14% drop per day until I had done a full charge cycle and now it reports 9% or so drop per day.

My PT2 arrived yesterday with a charge of 63%. Still had 62% this morning.

Looks good so far 🙂

I can also confirm a battery life of \> 20 days for the PT2. However, a lot depends on the use of the backlight, etc. I set HR to every 10 min. Currently using the TimeStyle watchface.

My PT2 lasts for over a month, but this is down to the fact that I just wanted a regular programmable watch with a custom watch face and that’s what I set it up for: basically everything is disabled, and the watch face is golfed down to some balance of space/work.

I recommend, in general, to disable what you don’t need. A lot of people leave it at the default settings, which felt kinda spammy to me (I have loads of chat notifications daily, I have calendar events, etc.) and for basically all of them I’d rather have my phone to deal with them than my watch.

Rumble, light and a highly animated watchface will eat your battery.

 ![image](https://canada1.discourse-cdn.com/flex033/uploads/pebble1/original/1X/8a6fc260d51cacd1f8c2287d879839106e297006.jpeg)

Eric, this thing is amazing.

I read a bit of the PebbleOS source code to understand where I can optimise my watchface, and I feel like there’s a lot of optimisation potential left on the table. Keep it up.
